Main advantages of O4M-CMS

O4M-CMS! can be extended in two different ways: by modules or plugins. All two are small add-ons that either modify existing content, repurpose it, or output additional information on the page. This dichotomy is unusual and can be confusing especially for people who already have experience working with other CMS like TYPO3, because here all extensions are named with a uniform name and also managed in a uniform way.To create some clarity:

Modules are used to display special content in the front and back end. They can be positioned in the template and are not part of the normal content area. Usually, the elements you see in the frontend on the left and right side are controlled by modules. They are customized in the module management. Examples are the login and the search form.
Plug-ins are small programs that modify the content of a page before it is output. Many plug-ins are included in the text of a content element with curly braces. For example, images can be included in the text in this way. The TinyMCE editor is also a plug-in. In addition, plug-ins perform system-related tasks such as user login or the extension of the search function.
